Buhari Meet With APC Governors In Aso Rock


President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with APC governors elected at the presidential villa, Abuja, prevailing on them to support  Adam Oshiomhole, for the post of the national chairman of the party.



The party  national convention for May 14 in Abuja where it is expected to elect its new National Working Committee (NWC) members.

The party boss, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who is also from Edo state, is thought to be interested in retaining the seat.

But Presidency revealed on Tuesday night that the sole item on the agenda of the meeting was to get the governors to work towards the emergence of Oshiomhole, as the party National Chairman.

The APC had decided to retain the current zoning formula for its national offices which ceded the post to the south-south.

The Purpose  for this meeting with the progressive governors to ask them to back Oshiomhole’s candidature for better administration toward the 2019 election.

The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha at the First Lady’s conference room at the villa.
The Governors in attendance are Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Simon Lalung (Plateau), Jubrila Bindow (Adamawa), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Abdulahi Ganduje (Kano), Kassim Shetima (Borno), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Tanko Almakura (Nassarawa) Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) Godwin Obaseki (Edo) and Abubakar Bagudu (Jigawa).
